The new wine tasting and language exchange experience...

Chato Grato and ifriendly present ....

The very first bilingual wine tasting experience in Castilla La Mancha, Spain.

Wine tasting, catas de vino, are very popular. We love wine and La Mancha produces tonnes of the stuff and it's rather good too!

A wine tasting course or session with us, will give you the chance to learn how to really enjoy wine.  Before I learnt about wine tasting, I would order a glass with no idea what I was about to drink! One wine tasting session will change the way you drink wine forever.... Life is too short to drink bad wine! (There are no bad wines, but there will be wines you might not enjoy as much.)

Why bilingual? Well, ifriendly started out as a language exchange programme, to give everyone the opportunity to improve their language skills, whilst meeting new people in a social setting.  Thanks to Eddie, that group is still going strong in Brighton, England.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/Spanishcombination/

Now we would like to take it to the next level...

We would like to have an evening with you, where we will present 3 different wines in both Spanish and English languages.  This could appeal to both English and Spanish speakers alike... Would you like a chance to practise your English/ Spanish in a relaxed and social environment? And after a couple of glasses, I can guarantee that your language skills will improve and your confidence in a foreign language will grow.

ifriendly will be teaming up with Chatograto to give you the best experience possible... Here is Chatograto's goal...

CHATOGRATO is a project developed by and for aggrandising the figure of wine. We will try to reflect in it all the passion we have for this liquid art.
In order to help in spreading the culture of wine, oil, cheese and other delicacies of the area, and in order to bring it closer to the general public through our sommelier José Carlos Rodríguez, and the experience of other professionals, we have designed a range of courses and activities to help you to enjoy wine and many other artisan food in all its grandeur. (taken from www.chatograto.com).

We hope that you will join us!

*Our first event will be held on the 19th of December, in Ciudad Real, Spain. Location TBC.

A Spanish October in Brighton

Dear Invasion Members,

I can't believe October has come around so quickly! Yet, here we all are... embarking on another winter.

You will all be pleased to know that we are still going strong!

We still meet every Thursday evening at the Cornerstone from 8 pm...
Members still enjoy the Candela Quartet at More bar, on Trafalgar street on a Sunday evening and;
The Guarana bar, on Sydney Street, has become a popular meeting place for foreign language speakers...

October News:

We have a new venue for our language exchange group! We will now be meeting every Tuesday evening at the Saint James Tavern on St James Street, Brighton. We will be meeting from 8.30 pm onwards...
There is a very important reason for this!

The Spanish Invasion have now joined forces with Combination Languages!

On Tuesday, 13th October Combination Languages will be starting Beginners/ Low Intermediate Spanish Classes.

The class is conducted mainly in Spanish as this exposure to the language is the best and fastest way to learn. Don’t let this put you off though!

Instructions can always be translated and although Suzie is fluent in Spanish (having lived and worked in Andalucia and also currently living with Spanish people in Brighton) her mother tongue is English so she can ensure that she uses cognates (words similar to English) if you have any difficulties understanding!

Students practice all 4 skills; Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing with most emphasis being placed on Listening and Speaking in Spanish. The lessons are stimulating, interesting, relevant and fun!

They have a lively, interactive approach to teaching and learning and often use games, songs and authentic materials to develop your language skills. Having said that, grammar plays an obviously important role in any language and considerable time is also spent working through grammatical points.

The lessons start at 7.30 - 9 pm every Tuesday evening from the 13th October.
You can either book in advance for 4 lessons at £50 or attend lessons on a drop in basis at £15 per lesson. For more information please contact Suzie 07974 563137 or Tom 07913 802222 or go to
http://www.combinationlanguages.com/classes.html

The classes will be held above the Saint James Tavern on St James Street, Brighton.

So, come along to the pub on Tuesday, 13th October and meet Suzie, Tom and me to find out how you can make the most out of learning a new language!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Saludos

xx Lisa
